February 11, 2005, Newsletter Issue #39: How to Make a Cafe Macchiato

Tip of the Week

WHAT IS CAFÉ MACCHIATO?

Well, it`s quite a treat when you feel like something distinctly European. Cafe Macchiato is a shot of espresso, best served in a small espresso cup, with a topping of steamed milk. Go for about 80% volume in espresso, with 20% of steamed milk.

And if you want to imagine yourself sitting on a sidewalk café in Rome, you might want to sweeten the experience with a little sugar.
